Roses and Peas

Charles gave me a beautiful rose bush for Valentine's day. In the past week, the gorgeous roses have bloomed! Here are some pictures.

Yesterday Charles cut up some tomato cages for me to use for my peas to grow on. I strung up some twine between two poles, as well as used some of the smaller metal pieces of the tomato cages. I was quite surprised when I checked on my peas after church today and noticed that some of the tendrils had already had a tight hold on the twine and metal. The wind was blowing and the peas that were attached to the twine didn't move. I was amazed at how fast and how tightly wound the peas were in one day. The church hymn "The Iron Rod" came to mind as I looked at the peas.

It's funny how inspiration comes from the oddest sources- peas in your case!
The roses are beautiful. I didn't know you had such a green thumb. Nice work!

You really do have a green thumb Carrie -- if you can get Roses to be that beautiful in Tucson:) Good job. And great analogy of your pea vines.
