We had a visitor from Utah this weekend: Charles' mom!! We enjoyed a busy, but very relaxing weekend with her. The weekend started out with a session in the Mesa Temple, then a 2-hour drive back to Tucson. It brought back fond memories to Charles when he was making that drive every other weekend when we were dating. Saturday we slept in. Hurray! We don't get to sleep in very often these days. We had awesome fruit tacos for breakfast. Later that day we attended a convert baptism that Charles was in charge of. Joyce chose to try an Ethiopian restaurant (over a Mexican restaurant) in town. Here are some pictures of the delicious food! The food might not look very appetizing, but the meal was scrumptious. You eat the meal with your fingers by scooping it up with injura bread. Once the meal is over, you continue to eat the "plate" the meal was served on. We all had a fun dining experience! Joyce said eating at the restaurant was the highlight of her trip, besides visiting with family, of course.

Sunday we went to church, took a nap, read, relaxed. We watched the Tucson edition of Extreme Home Makeover, then ate fabulous Trader Joe's Lava Cakes with Blue Bell Candy Jar ice cream on top. What a yummy way to end the weekend.
Monday we had to go to work while Joyce stayed at our home and read and relaxed some more by herself. Charles left work at lunch and spent some quality one-on-one time with his mom in the afternoon. Charles' Uncle Guy and his wife, Robbie, came to Tucson and ate a BBQ dinner with us before taking Joyce back to Mesa. Fun times were had by all!
