It was one year ago today (March 8th) that we were married for time and all eternity in the Bountiful Temple. We have had a fantastic first year together and we can't wait to see what life has in store for us in the coming years.

We celebrated our anniversary by spending a relaxing weekend in Silver City, New Mexico. Silver City is about a 4 hour drive from Tucson. It is a very small town, with not many shops and little to do. We left for our vacation after work on Friday and got to Silver City around 8 pm. Charles heard from a coworker that the hamburgers at Lottaburger were tasty, so we stopped for dinner there. Charles didn't think the burger was very good, as there was not a lotta burger to eat.

Saturday we got up early and made a two hour drive from our hotel on a steep, twisting mountain road full of pine trees to Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument. The monument is a series of 7 caves where the Mogollan Indians lived about 700 years ago. Visitors are only able to tour Caves #1 thru #5. We spent all afternoon at the monument, hiking through the ruins, and exploring different trails in the area.

Cave #1 is thought to be a kitchen area.

After we drove back to Silver City, we ate dinner at a Mexican restaurant, Jalisco. We ordered carnitas for an appetizer, which were fabulous. The rest of the dinner was good, as well. But the appetizer was our favorite!
We then drove around "historic Silver City", which really was just one long road, then got Blizzards at Dairy Queen.

Sunday we attended Sacrament Meeting at a small ward in Silver City. We then made the 4-hour drive back to Tucson. Our trip was a great way to celebrate our first year of marriage!
