Our Gila Valley Temple trip

One of our two September Temple trips was to The Gila Valley Temple in Central, Arizona. It is a two hour drive from our home (it is also a two hour drive to the Mesa Temple). We went to the open house two years ago, and have always wanted to go back.

We had a wonderful weekend getaway! Friday night we ate dinner at the first stop on the Arizona Salsa Trail, Casa Manana. The food was delicious and we want to try more restaurants along the Salsa Trail.
We stayed overnight at the local Marriott, which was a very nice place to stay. Saturday morning, we feasted on the hot hotel breakfast, then went to the Temple. We thoroughly enjoyed the small session, the peaceful spirit and being with each other in the Temple.

On our drive back to Tucson, we stopped at Apple Annie's Orchard, hoping to get some fresh-picked peaches. We were about two weeks too early for peaches, but did get some fresh apples, an apple crumble pie, and a piece of hot apple raspberry pie ala mode. It was a fun way to end our great Temple trip!

P.S. We are super excited about the recent announcement of a Temple in Tucson!!!
