Saturday Stuff

We had a "work" Saturday this weekend, but made time for fun activities as well. We slept in until 6 am (that's late for us), and went on a bike ride along the wash. We then worked outside until 1 pm! Charles cleared trenches for our drip system. I planted our "winter" garden - peas, carrots, spinach and spaghetti squash. I also picked our onions, chopped them, and dehydrated them.

I chopped the onions outside, so that the kitchen wouldn't get too messy.

I've wanted to visit the Mini-Time Machine Museum of Miniatures for awhile, and Charles agreed to come with me yesterday. It is the only museum in existence dealing with miniatures (basically dollhouses). Charles was a great sport and enjoyed seeing some of the displays.

Last night we had a fabulous monsoon rain/lightning/thunder storm develop over our home. I love lightning storms, so halfway through dinner we left our food, got in the truck and drove around town to get a better view of the lightning. Here is a very short video I took of the storm from our family room once we returned from our drive. It was a very fun summer storm!

we've had the craziest weather here too. Lightning, thunder, huge storms and then hot humid weather. Whatever happened to the desert! Great job gardening.
