Las Vegas Road Trip

We took a fun road trip this past weekend to watch BYU and the University of Arizona play in the Las Vegas Bowl game. The drive to Las Vegas went by fast, thanks to the pile of old magazines we read, singing to Christmas music and seeing snow as we drove through the mountains. The highlight of the drive was going across Hoover Dam and seeing the construction of the new bridge.

We met dad, Emily and Jay at the Sunset Station hotel/casino and dropped off our luggage. Then we ate an early dinner and drove to the stadium - just in time to see the jets fly over from Nellis AFB. We were glad we got to see a BYU football game in person, even though the Cougars played horrible. It was a chilly evening, but we bundled up and actually stayed quite warm.

We left midway through the 4th quarter (since it wasn't worth staying til the end) and went to In-n-Out Burgers for shakes and hamburgers. After treats, we went back to Sunset Station and played air hockey and other video games. It was a fun Saturday being with Charles and my family!

Sunday morning we ate breakfast, then attended a Sacrament Meeting at a ward in Henderson. After church, we loaded up the car, then drove back to Tucson. It was a wonderful road trip and I'm so glad we made the effort to go!
