The month of May

We can't believe that May is almost over! It seems like we've spent a lot of time on house projects. When we bought our house, we noticed water damage on the ceiling of our utility closet, but never saw any water until two weeks ago. Charles noticed water coming out of the utility closet, dripping from the ceiling. With the help of his coworkers, he discovered that a portion of our swamp cooler had come off and water leaked from the cooler through the ceiling whenever the pump was on. We decided to cut into the wall to see what damage we had. Luckily there was just a little water stain, but no mold or rotten wood! Charles spent most of yesterday fixing the ceiling/wall/swamp cooler pump.

We had a home energy audit done by our local electric company. The air ducts leak quite a bit of air, so we need to get those sealed. Besides that, our house is very energy efficient! This is our front door and the equipment for the air duct test.

Yesterday we went on a hike on the Rattlesnake Trail in Sabino Canyon - my new favorite short trail in the area. I think we were the best looking couple in the canyon!

It was fun to see the saguaro just beginning to bloom.

Charles bought me a sewing table a few weeks ago that I'll use instead of the kitchen table for my projects. I am still taking my block of the month quilt class. Here's the block for May (Jacob's Ladder):
