First Hike of 2011

Yesterday we took our first hike of 2011 and had a fantastic time together! The weather was perfect for a hike - blue skies, sunshine, and temperatures in the high 60's. It was almost too warm for a long-sleeve shirt and I got a sunburn on my neck. We hiked to Bridal Wreath Falls on the Douglas Springs Trail - a little over 6 miles round trip.

The one negative part of the hike was all of the rock steps we had to climb up and down. About one third of the hike was made up of these steps!

We enjoyed amazing views of the valley and beautiful scenery all along the trail.

This is us at Bridal Wreath Falls. If you look very close, you can see a trickle of water. We spoke with people who hike the trail every week and they said there is usually more water flowing. This is another place we need to come back to after a rainstorm. We ate a picnic lunch at the Falls and enjoyed our hike down the mountain. Thanks for a fun hike, Charles!
