Happy New Year!

We rang in the new year with style- being Arizona tourists! We both had Dec 31 and Jan 1 off work, so took a mini-vacation to Southeastern Arizona. We ran a few errands before heading out to Fort Huachuca - Charles' current work location. We saw Charles' job site, then toured the Army Intelligence Museum on base and saw all sorts of contraptions for hiding secret information, decoding devices and interesting exhibits. My favorite item was a video camera made to look like a tree limb and hid in a forest.

My grandpa served in the Counterintelligence Corps, so I thought this display was interesting

We also toured the Fort Huachuca Museum which had a lot of information about the Buffalo Soldiers. Unfortunately our pictures got deleted from our camera for that museum. New Year's Eve we ate a gigantic dinner at a local restaurant, watched a football bowl game and fell asleep. We set the alarm for 11:50 pm and woke up in time to watch the ball drop on t.v. in Times Square.

New Year's Day we drove another 25 miles to a small mining town called Bisbee. The homes and streets were so fun to look at.

We walked around the Copper Queen Hotel and took a fascinating tour of the Copper Queen Mine. It was a very fun New Year's trip!

Sounds and looks like a ton of fun! I really want to go to the Army Intelligence Museum. That is so funny you set your alarm to wake up to watch the ball drop! You two are always doing something fun. I hope we can come and visit you sometime soon.
