Home Grown Watermelon
I picked one of four watermelons that are growing in the garden this week. The watermelon I decided to pick was nice and round, seemed quite large to me, and so I thought it was ready to pick. So - I picked the watermelon, weighed it (about 10 pounds), and cut it open. It was quite juicy, but not very sweet or red on the inside. I'm sad to report the watermelon was not ripe enough. I'll have to blend chunks of it into fruit smoothies so it doesn't go to waste. I am excited to eat a ripe watermelon in a few weeks!

That's too bad the watermelon wasn't ready yet, but that's good you can use it in smoothies, etc. I'm impressed with all you've been able to grow.
How sad! When you do get a ripe one it will taste soo yummy. Last year ours were tiny but they were sure delicious.
It looks like it should've been ready! The outside is picture perfect!!
