Our Relaxing Weekend

(Carrie) It seems that lately Charles and I have been extra busy with work, church, and keeping our home maintained and in somewhat order. Charles has worked many long hours the past month remodeling a bathroom at a rental property with a coworker. While it has been a great experience for him, I've missed having him home in the evenings and Saturdays. So, this weekend, we decided to relax a little bit together.

Friday was our 14-month anniversary. Charles bought me one dozen beautiful roses in honor of the day.

That evening I picked up some $5 Little Cesear's pizza for dinner and we watched The Tale of Despereaux. I really liked that movie, which is amazing, since I'm not much of a movie fan. It was so nice to have a relaxing movie night with Charles!

Early Saturday morning (6:30 am to be exact) we spent over an hour at Agua Caliente Park getting some new family pictures taken. A couple in our ward took our pictures and we'll post those soon. It was fun to explore a new park, climb in trees, balance on rocks and tree stumps, see a natural hot spring and wildlife. After pictures, we ate a hearty breakfast at Village Inn.

At Village Inn

Saturday afternoon we visited the DeGrazia art gallery. That was quite an amazing place with some beautiful and interesting art. Even the floor was artistic, with designs made out of chopped cholla cacti. I couldn't take any pictures inside, but here is a picture of the detail of the entrance door:

Saturday night we attended the baptisms of two converts. Charles conducted the meeting and I played the piano. It was a nice way to spend our evening. We finished off the night with some Blue Bell ice cream. Delicious!

Sunday Charles made me french toast for breakfast, then we went to church. Because Sunday is a day of rest, we both took a nap. We then watched Church videos and caught up on reading. What a relaxing, but fun, weekend we enjoyed together!
