4th of July

Charles and I were asked to organize our ward 4th of July pancake breakfast. We had about one month to do this and put in a lot of time and effort in the planning and preparation. We were so glad when the breakfast was over!  There was tons of food and a lot of people from church showed up. We reserved two pavilions – both were full, as well as the tables and chairs set up in the grass. The event started off with a short patriotic program. There were some games and a fish pond. I think everyone who came had an enjoyable time.

In the afternoon, we had a great rain storm. Our front yard flooded. We loved watching all the water pour down and hearing the thunder!

That evening we watched fireworks from a hill near our house. It was fun to see two or three shows at once. Maybe next year we’ll be up close to a fireworks show so that we can hear the booms. That’s the part I love best.
