A Picnic and Walk on the Meadow Trail

Saturday we spent a wonderful afternoon on Mt. Lemmon! I felt pretty energetic and wanted a change of scenery, so we drove 45 minutes to the cool temperatures and pine trees on top of Mt. Lemmon.

We stopped at the picnic area near Summerhaven and ate our fun picnic lunch of Subway sandwiches, Sunchips, strawberries and Oreos.

Charles was a good citizen and put out hot coals left in two grills near us.

We went to the General Store and looked at some of the fun items there. We sat on the benches outside the store and ate some yummy mint chocolate fudge.

I still had plenty of energy, so we drove to the top of Mt. Lemmon and walked 45 minutes on the Meadow Loop Trail, a flat trail that winds around a meadow. We had great views of Tucson along the way. The meadow had alot of beautiful yellow wildflowers in bloom. It was a fun walk through the area and great be on a walk together. Thanks Charles for suggesting we go to Mt. Lemmon!
