Phoenix Day Trip

(Carrie) We took a break from house-hunting this weekend to spend the day in Phoenix. We got up early (to beat the heat) and went on a bike ride along the wash by our apartment. Then we drove two hours to the Mesa LDS Temple and attended a session there. We made it to the session with one minute to spare. Talk about cutting it close! It was very nice to be in the Temple with Charles!

After the Temple we went to visit my former coworker, Kristina Green, from my days at Alpine Health Products. We had some great tacos for lunch, watched our wedding video and chatted for awhile with Kristina and her husband Kieth.

Trying to keep cool in the car! It was over 110 degrees outside!

After our visit with Kristina, we went to visit another good friend of mine, Ximena Facer. We went to BYU together and worked for a few semesters at the Benson Lab on campus. We had a nice visit and then had some homemade Chinese food and banana bread.

The sun was setting on our drive home. Isn't the Arizona landscape beautiful? Click on the pictures for an amazing full-screen view. It was a wonderful day at the Temple with Charles and visiting with my friends!
