Thanksgiving Getaway

We hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving holiday!

This year for Thanksgiving we decided to go on one last getaway before the baby is born and figured the long Thanksgiving weekend would be the perfect time. Since is not comfortable for me to travel long distances, we decided to go to a local resort. That was a great idea!

Wednesday we checked into the resort, then got dinner at a Peruvian restaurant nearby. Thursday we slept in, then ate too big of a breakfast at the resort restaurant. After breakfast, we walked on a nature trail to a 80-foot waterfall on the resort property. It was a beautiful spot and great to feel like we were on a real hike again. The only disappointing part of the waterfall was the sign letting us know the resort pumps water to keep the waterfall flowing year round. Oh well. It still was pretty to see.

Thanksgiving day marked 34 weeks of the pregnancy! I definitely have a belly now, but am proud to report I still have an "innie" belly button.

After the waterfall walk, we played ping pong, then relaxed by the pool for awhile.

We walked to the golf course and watched the golfers while we waited for Thanksgiving dinner. Charles really wanted to play on that course!

Our dinner was spectacular! The host gave us a "tour" of where all of the food was located, starting with the hallway full of desserts, progressing to the hallway full of salads, sushi and lobster, then showed us the traditional Thanksgiving food outside along with ribs, salmon, BBQ fruits and vegetables. Another area had a breakfast station serving omelets, yogurt parfait, breakfast breads and danishes. There was so much food that we just had a taste of most everything.

Friday we slept in again, watched the resort Christmas tree get set up, and explored the rest of the resort. It really was a relaxing few days and such a fun way to spend Thanksgiving!
